Precision for Slotted Materials

Slotted corrugated tubes and hoses place specific demands on processing. During feeding, the flexible material must be guided in a controlled manner to ensure that each cut is made at the intended position. The Metzner SM 4000 was specifically developed for this task. A dedicated transport system guides the slotted material into the correct shape and feeds it to the cutting blade. A laser sensor monitors the position of the feed rollers, helping to ensure precise cut positioning at the crest of the corrugation. The SM 4000 combines material-friendly feeding with high processing speeds. It processes slotted corrugated tubes and hoses with diameters ranging from 4.5 mm to a maximum of 40 mm, depending on the material. For high-volume production, the machine offers a specified feed speed of up to 160 m/min and a throughput of up to 8,000 cuts per hour.
