The Metzner SR 85 is the centerpiece of our SR series – a line of high-precision machines specifically designed for cutting sealing rings from molded or extruded tubing. The entire manufacturing process is designed to combine technical perfection with maximum cost-effectiveness. In this process, the pre-cut rubber tubing is mounted onto the mandrels.

Once the mandrels are loaded, they are automatically clamped between rotating tips to ensure perfectly centered rotation. The actual cutting process is performed by a highly stable cutting carriage that moves along the tubes under computer control. Depending on the material properties and the desired cut profile, either precision cutting blades or indexed circular blades are used. This technological flexibility ensures that the SR 85 generates maximum output while delivering outstanding cut quality that meets even the most demanding requirements, even with complex geometries.
