The Metzner CCM 6 circulating circular knife machine is designed for the precise cutting to length of reinforced and rigid materials. It is intended for users who set high standards for the surface finish and dimensional accuracy of their products. The key technical feature of the CCM 6 is its standard configuration with two independent servo-linear drives – one for the tool holder and one for the circular blade feed. This combination enables reliable, process-controlled adjustment of the cutting parameters: On the one hand, extremely short cycle times of less than one second can be achieved for short parts at high line speeds. On the other hand, where material conditions require it, machining times of several seconds can be set to ensure a clean cut edge.
CUSTOM CUTTING PARAMETERS FOR CLEAN EDGES
The precise control of the drives allows the blade’s feed rate to be adjusted to different sections of material. This enables the CCM 6 to perform a gentle entry or a controlled blade exit with a reduced feed rate to minimize burr formation. The high blade speeds – selectable between 2,000–6,000 rpm or 4,000–12,000 rpm – ensure a clean cut. This allows for the use of different types of circular blades for various applications. Like the standard model in the series, the CCM 6 is capable of both precise dry cutting and wet cutting with appropriate cooling and lubrication technology.

OPTIONAL FEATURES FOR ADVANCED REQUIREMENTS
The design of the CCM 6 provides a foundation for various optional features that allow it to be adapted to specific production requirements. For steel-reinforced profiles, the optional intelligent gap detection system positions the cut precisely within the gap of the metal carrier, resulting in a burr-free cut and reducing wear on the circular blade.
To flexibly expand the range of applications, the platform is designed to accommodate quick-change tools or optional drilling and milling modules. During the cutting process, an optional profile clamping system ensures optimal fixation of the profile, preventing deformation and guaranteeing cut quality even with complex geometries.
In conjunction with an external quality control system, an additional function enables the removal of defective areas by controlling the automatic trimming of faulty material sections. Furthermore, the machine is designed to accommodate an additional punching tool, which further enhances its functionality.
